Squamish, BC - Boulderfest

A group of climbers from the gym planned a weekend of bouldering in Canada's Yosemite. It was a little hard to look at the huge granite big walls all around and work these tiny little boulders but it didn't make the problems any easier. Rain came and the next day provided a chance to run up the three sumits of the Chief. Nice views and a good challenge for a healing foot.

Hotel Westy's Expansion - Dang Canucks!

Not so much a story about climbing but more about a container; a stowage box used for securing my climbing gear and giving more room in the rolling hotel.

I set out to design something that had character, function and security and this was the net result. I recycled an old truck-bed tool box for $50 and had the locks rekeyed for $20. Spent a little time welding a carrier together and wiring some tail lights. Then I painted the box with the appropriate colors that proudly state I'm one of those card carrying members from the Socialist Republic of Canada who also sews his country's flag onto his backpack. Hey don't kick me for it, if you've never tried a Canadian you should, you just might like one.
